We are leaving tomorrow for Washington DC. Needless to say, we are super excited! I'll try and blog when I can, but I will for sure get pictures of my food.
I found this while I was poking around the internet. Basically, it says that mixing cardio and weights isn't this bad, horrible thing that everyone has made it seem.
See you all soon!

Quick Thought for this Morning
Just a quick thought for this morning...Well, two.
One, I WILL be putting up "after" pics after I get my haircut tomorrow. I look like a mop right now.
And now for the "meat"...
Are you an active couch potato? Sure, we get an hour or two of activity at the gym (or at home, or on the road, or wherever), but what about the other hours of the day? I have a desk job, so most of my time is spent sitting at a computer. I've really been trying to get myself up and moving the other hours of the day.
First thing in the morning, I try and do SOMETHING. This morning, it was 50 pushups and 100 crunches. Sometimes I'll do bodyweight squats or jump squats. Anything to get the blood moving. At work, I try and get up once an hour to walk around. I am going to start bringing a resistance band as well! During lunch, I'll go for a quick lap around the park.
What do you do to keep active the other hours of the day?

Welcome!
A baby elephant on average weighs 250 pounds. At my heaviest, I weighed 320 pounds. I’m sitting here thinking to myself, “I
weighed MORE than a baby elephant? Holy
shit.” I could have been the poster
child for poor health. A life of
physical inactivity along with a 3+ cans of soda a day had wreaked havoc on my
body. I told myself that I was healthy
since I didn’t have high blood pressure, diabetes, or any of the other ailments
that obese people tend to face.
Blissfully unaware and ignorant, I taught myself that it was “okay” to
be as big as I was.

Then came the fat shaming from a doctor. At an appointment, he said everything he
could think of to “convince” me to lose weight.
As I was leaving, he said, “You may want to consider weight loss surgery
or prescription weight loss drugs since it doesn’t seem like you want to get
healthy.” Well, after eating everything I
could find and becoming depressed for about a week, I decided I would prove
this asshole wrong.
In March of 2011 I set out on a journey to prove the
skeptics wrong. Little did I know that
my biggest enemy and skeptic was myself.
In 18 months, I have lost 160 pounds.
I’ve gone from a size 26 to a size 8.
I hope this blog will provide inspiration for those looking
to make a permanent change in themselves.
My goals are to provide recipes, tips, tricks, exercises, and anything
else I can find. I want to disprove the
myth that weight loss is all about deprivation.
My ideas on food and exercise tend to be non-conventional, so stick with
me! I must note that I am NOT a doctor
and ask that you consult with a medical professional before starting a weight
loss program.
Legal disclaimer out of the way, welcome to my life!
