Quick Thought for this Morning

Just a quick thought for this morning...Well, two.

One, I WILL be putting up "after" pics after I get my haircut tomorrow.  I look like a mop right now.

And now for the "meat"...

Are you an active couch potato?  Sure, we get an hour or two of activity at the gym (or at home, or on the road, or wherever), but what about the other hours of the day?  I have a desk job, so most of my time is spent sitting at a computer.  I've really been trying to get myself up and moving the other hours of the day.

First thing in the morning, I try and do SOMETHING.  This morning, it was 50 pushups and 100 crunches.  Sometimes I'll do bodyweight squats or jump squats.  Anything to get the blood moving.  At work, I try and get up once an hour to walk around.  I am going to start bringing a resistance band as well!  During lunch, I'll go for a quick lap around the park.

What do you do to keep active the other hours of the day?

    While I don't usually have the opportunity to squeeze in a real workout at the office, I do work standing up behind a counter several times a day for an hour at a time. We have the option of using the sit-down counter (ADA accessibility), and most of my coworkers prefer that, but I've noticed that I feel much more energetic throughout the day just standing instead of sitting all the time.

    What kind of exercises do you do with your fitness band? And is there a particular type of band you prefer? I'm considering one but the choices are intimidating.
